Is it possible that in a world ruled by appearance, there is room for loyalty, ethics, true love, honesty and solidarity? Is it possible, today, when unrelenting consumption is a way of life, to find someone who equates more value to being rather than having? Cobras & Lagartos is an urban tragic comedy, modern and humanist, that deals with two increasingly different worlds: one which values loyalty and solidarity and the other, where the seduction of superfluity and the power of money reign.

Childhood friends Cidinha and Leda follow opposite paths, but envy the life the other has chosen. Belo's love and custody of their daughter lead them into a competition.

Ricardo Aguillar, a powerful physician, loses the only and beloved son, the young Daniel, in an accident. After some time he discovers that the boy had frozen the semen before he died. From there he decides to go hunting for the "ideal woman", worthy of being inseminated and become the mother of his grandson. Only fate is about to play a part. When the insemination is finally done and the young woman chosen - the young Viviane - becomes pregnant, the man discovers himself hopelessly in love with her. From then on an unusual and surprising situation will give an electrifying direction to the story: the boy's spirit begins to prowl the family and, although they are in different plans, father and son will dispute the love of the same woman. It will be a clash between the impossible love, therefore idealized, and the realizable love, carnal, with all that it brings of joy and fulfillment, but also of hurts and uncertainties.

Inspired by the work of the same name by João Ubaldo Ribeiro, the miniseries tells the love story between João Pedros, a biologist who decides to make a living from fishing, and the unhappy Ana Clara, married to the corrupt Ângelo Marcos, Secretary of Health. Together with his lover, Bebel, Ângelo plans to take real estate speculation to the paradisiacal island of Santa Cruz. And for this he counts on the complicity of Tavinho and Nando, who belong to the local elite.
