The invasion of a village in Belarus by German forces sends young Flyora into the forest to join the weary Resistance fighters, against his family's wishes. There he meets a girl, Glasha, who accompanies him back to his village. On returning home, Flyora finds his family and fellow peasants massacred. His continued survival amidst the brutal debris of war becomes increasingly nightmarish, a battle between despair and hope.

A young journalism student from Moscow, Andrei, arrives in Tashkent, where he falls in love with both the city and its people. He is able to meet new friends and experience his first love, which leads him to decide to stay in Tashkent forever.

One day, Malika meets Said, who studied at the University of Bombay, where the young man, it turns out, learned not only the humanities, but also the game of field hockey, kung fu techniques, and even the secrets of the skill of Indian dancers. Said instantly falls in love with Malika and soon becomes the coach of Sogdiana. But the proud girl, offended by the new coach’s comments, goes to the synchronized swimming section. Disguised as a correspondent, Said enters the pool.

A story about the clash of two cultures, two worlds - traditional Tajik culture and the new, invading and imperialist in its nature, Soviet culture, about the formation of self-awareness of the Tajik dekhkanin in the 1920s-1930s.... Poor Hasan thinks and experiences a lot before he is able to comprehend the changes in his life, to realize that old traditions and customs are no longer valued. Bent by need and disenfranchisement, he finds the strength to stand up against the Basmachi.

The hero of the film, a thirty-year-old young man, returns to his hometown and discovers that he is becoming a participant in some kind of intrigue, the logic that should lead him to clash with Dima, the head of one of the local criminal gangs, Mikhail cannot avoid fighting, because the mystery of his beloved's death is connected with this name...
