A nameless waiter spends his days sitting around the house watching Faces of Death, slaughterhouse videos, pornography and the German equivalent of The Price Is Right. Deluded, deranged and believing mankind will endure the most horrible experiences, and will resort to any actions in order to sustain their own life, he snaps.

A neurosurgeon hits a child one night and, in a panic, commits a hit-and-run. The next day, she finds the boy on her ward of all places, a Romanian street kid who is being forced to pick pockets by a gang. The boy, who recognizes the driver from the accident, blackmails the doctor out of fear of the police and his gang. She is forced to give him shelter, but the two soon become friends and form a tight-knit community.

Hannes Engel is a successful radio presenter in the countryside. By chance, he is heard by program director Conrad Scheffer one night, who immediately recognizes the potential of the cheeky presenter and wants to sign him up as the new figurehead for his late show, which is in a ratings slump. Pik wants to help her grandmother and tries to raise money at Cologne airport by performing a song. But she is taken away by the airport police. Although she manages to escape from the police at first, she accidentally observes how the corrupt policeman Kowatsch and a customs officer take away seized drugs. Kowatsch realizes that he has been observed, but is unable to catch Pik.

A notoriously overtired master baker Oliver Maibach has been working late at night in the family bakery to provide fresh bread and rolls together with his mother Elisabeth. One day, when he meets the attractive cellist Greta, the widowed father begins to doubt whether his future lies in this never-changing daily grind. Elisabeth also has her problems: in order to spare her friend Kemal Yildirim, a greengrocer, from being deported to Turkey, she unceremoniously walks him down the aisle.

After finishing school three teens plan their last weekend together, which leads in a unpredictably funny road trip.

The ambitious young Ina Littmann is an investigative journalist for the TV talk show "Eye in Eye". Her current subject is Henry Kupfer, who wrote a bestseller about a psychopathic killer after he was himself in prison for 8 years for manslaughter. As an entry for the show Ina plans to use a current series of brutal murders among prostitutes. When Ina meets Kupfer, she is despised and fascinated at the same time. Soon she's convinced that Kupfer not only writes about murders, but commits them himself. She smells a smash hit and prepares to prove him guilty on the show.

The 13 days from April 20th to May 2nd, 1945, are unique in the history of Germany: They are the final act in the history of the Third Reich, which was supposed to last for a thousand years and succumbed after twelve in an orgy of violence and fire. In the catacombs of his bunker under the Reich Chancellery in the capital city of Berlin, which Adolf Hitler wanted to make the centre of the world, the dictator operates with ghost divisions during the final days of the war. Anna is persuaded by her boyfriend Paul to move from Berlin to his home town of Imma. What the notorious soccer hater doesn't know, however, is that joining his best friend Steffen's law firm is just a pretext. In reality, Paul and his buddies are there to save the soccer club he co-founded, Eintracht Imma 95, from relegation. Anna soon realizes that the players' wives have nothing to say to their soccer junkies: Artificial turf in the bedroom, Effenberg bedding and weekends on the soccer pitch. When she finds out the real reason for the move, she mobilizes her fellow sufferers to counter-attack after a fierce bout of frustration and challenges Paul and his friends to the ultimate duel on the soccer pitch. The bet is on: women against men. If the women win, soccer is over - and Paul has to go back to Berlin with Anna. Forever. If the men win, there will be no more complaining.

The film mainly consists of various, often grotesque episodes. There is also a frame story from which the episodes are derived. However, the connection between the frame story and the episodes is very weak. Many episodes revolve around surveillance and security. In the frame story, insurance agent Erich and Richard are stuck together in an elevator that is unusually large for an apartment building (about 3x3 meters). While Erich wants to get out as quickly as possible, Richard isn't actually in any hurry, as he seems to live in the elevator.

Bella is not a sad child. She lives out her promiscuity openly, smokes, drinks and is not averse to the occasional drug binge. But the really special thing about Bella is her appearance: she is a doll, barely more than half a meter tall, with red pigtails and a mischievous smile. Bella has also been best friends with stuffy Jana since childhood, but the two lost touch years ago. On the day of Jana's engagement, the formerly famous Bella - broke and homeless - unexpectedly bursts back into her life.
