But now, they emerge from the shadows of a poorly lit room and tell their secrets, their tricks, their influences; they tell their own story, that of those who face the blank page, the absolute nothingness; that of those who are the true authors, those who create and destroy entire universes. They are the screenwriters.

Forty years later, Guillermo Montesinos, the actor who played José María el Cepa in The Cuenca Crime (1980), directed by Pilar Miró, returns to the various locations where the shooting of the mythical film, narrating the infamous Grimaldos case (1910), took place.

Alicia and Carmen are two recently divorced single mothers who become friends after their kids get in a fight at school. Their new friendship is put to the test when they agree to start dating the same man for fun.

A youngster recently arrived to Spain from Russia falls in love with his own cousin who is an astonishingly beautiful actress and, besides, much older than him.

Veronica, recently divorced with a son, begins to organize her life and adapt to the new situation. Her problems are soon relegated to the back ground when Carlos, her masseuse, is murdered. Her current boyfriend, Arthur (Xabier Elorriaga), suspects the mysterious sender can be Lucia's former lover, whose strange death never reached clarified. Now it's time it's Arthur who put the cards on the table to get to the bottom of it.

He is accompanied by his flashy Norwegian fiancée, Trudi Bergenkoklass, who is something like part fairy, part Viking and part Pippi Long Stocking. This lady immediately catches Manolito's eye.
