The collective farm driver Vasyl and the young Anyuta were happy when they celebrated their wedding. But soon married life becomes a burden for the girl – Vasyl does nothing but buy and acquire things.

In the Caucasus, Ivas experiences the fierce local resistance to the Russian military, and returns home to launch an uprising against the Russian government.

Everyone considered Sashko a mischief maker, but he dreamed of heroism. One day the boy was invited to act in a movie. Together with the entire film crew, Sashko went on his first expedition. But the war began. The wounded Sashko was rescued and rescued by a peasant woman, and when he recovered, she equipped him for a long journey - home to Kyiv. He reached his hometown, where the Nazis were already in control, and soon, having contacted the partisans, Sashko began to help them.

A Soviet dam project means that many old Ukrainian villages will end up under water. There are conflicts between the dam engineers and villagers who don't want to move.

It's a story about two of the most famous russian personages. They become friends, and then go along on the path of glory in parallel.
