Belly sinks further and further down into the depths of a mysterious underwater garden. Above water, she is bullied at school for not speaking the language and already having her period. At home, her mother gives her nothing but tough love. Down below is the only place she feels free. But before she can truly live and breathe in this dark fairy tale realm, she must grow the fins of a mermaid, which requires a very painful sacrifice.

Police officer Martin encounters his ex-girlfriend Eva in a bar. Their initial small talk quickly turns serious, and the protagonist's search becomes clear: But he won't find an answer there or with his current girlfriend. In the glow of the neon lights, he drives angrily through the lonely winter night. After narrowly escaping an accident, he ends up in a brothel. But reality soon catches up with him again.

Three couples in Vienna have children at around the same time. They're all in their mid-30s, successful, cool and live in a popular part of town. As idealistic as they are materialistic, they grow tomatoes on the balcony, drink locally roasted coffee and expensive cocktails and would never buy an electronic device sporting a half-eaten apple. And they're absolutely certain that you can have children without becoming bourgeois. But the reality tells a different story. Between career and kindergarten, Apple and alternative lifestyles, the satire plays cleverly with hipster clichés and mercilessly points up the gap between the old self-image and the new bourgeoisie.
