"The Flood" is a story about unjustifiably big ambitions of small people from the periphery of life and events, who, due to the sudden circumstances in which they found themselves, forget who they are and where they come from. The film, among other things, explores human weaknesses.

In the shadows of sun soaked streets during yet another hot summer in Podgorica, a loving couple named Ksenija and Ljubo are expecting, with the pregnancy process being carefully watched over by the latter's two conservative aunts, with the soon-to-be mother struggling to fight back against their influence without much succsess. After the birth finally occurs, Ksenija falls into depression as she can't produce milk and the two women decide that their sphere of influence can't just stop at the womb.

Luka moves to a small coastal town to live with his aunt, while his parents are in the middle of a divorce. A sense of numbness seems to hang above the town, but there is also Jana, a girl from the neighborhood who loves to sunbathe. The end of a lazy summer is near...

On the eve of his 25th birthday, Viktor, a young theatre directing student, spends a premature celebration night with his roommate and childhood friend Jimmy (25). As the alcohol flows and the mood lightens, memories of their shared youth resurface – both the joyful and mischievous moments, as well as the unspoken ones. While Alex (24), Jimmy’s girlfriend, is attending an art exhibition, the two friends cross an invisible line, once again testing the boundaries of their relationship. The morning before Viktor’s birthday brings no resolution – only the weight of a truth that threatens to unravel the very foundation of their friendship. "When Friends Part Ways?" is, above all, a film about coming together – before falling apart.
