Melodifestivalen (direct translation: The Melody Festival) is an annual music competition organised by Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). The competition is a six part tour (5 heats + the final) with stops in cities across Sweden to determine the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. Melodifestivalen is also known informally as "Mello", or internationally as "Melfest".

"Så mycket bättre" is the Swedish version of the format "Beste Zangers". This is asinging reality show where each artist attempts to do their own version of another artists well-known songs, with each person getting an episode featuring all of their songs being performed by the other musicians. The artists spend eight days together at a hotel in Gotland, where they attempt to put their own stamps on the songs.

"Stad i ljus," "Säg mig var du står," "Goliat," "Inget stoppar oss nu," "Händer mot himlen," "Utan dina andetag," and many more. Swedish pop history is filled with songs that have made the leap from the charts to the Swedish national soul—songs we sing in karaoke bars on Fridays, in the stands at football matches on Saturdays, or in church choirs on Sundays.
