A neglected daughter becomes a possessive mother in an emotional journey into the heart and mind of a woman who loved too much.

The Smiths have gathered once again on their quaint family farm to make the latest in a string of low-budget horror movies. No, the movies aren't particularly "successful." Some might even call them "bad." But at least the family is together, and that's what matters to Jack and Ellen. Their adult children, on the other hand - Trent and Ula - are working up the courage to leave this particular family tradition behind. Simmering family dysfunction turns to pure chaos when a real dead body shows up on set. Can they come together to keep the movie on track, or will this be the Smith family's final act?

Recovering addicts meet every week in a local community center to share coffee, cookies, and stories of the ups and downs of their recovery process. When one newcomer, Paul, reluctantly attends the meeting and is forced to face his relationship to alcohol - as well as his father - things take a dark, unexpected turn.

When Kyle, a curmudgeonly writer, finally gets the good news that his debut memoir is getting published, he goes to his favorite bar to complain about it. Once there, however, he must face more stiff drinks - and problems - than he bargained for.
