Luis Poirot

Documentary series that takes a nostalgic journey through decades of Chilean theater and its history.

This documentary offers a portrait of the photographer Sergio Larrain based on the mark that he left during the course of his existence: photographs, testimonies, philosophical texts, and in particular, thousands of letters that are the gateway to his inner world and the mysteries of his life and work.

Joan Manuel Serrat fled to Mexico when Franco ordered his persecution. In Argentina and Chile, his commitment against military regimes is still remembered. Joaquín Sabina arrived later. His poetry bewitched the audience. In Argentina, he is a tango singer as much as a rocker; in Mexico, the mariachis sing their songs. The former is a symbol, a venerated figure; the latter is a “cuate,” as they say in Mexico, a buddy with whom you can always count.

Chilean exiles in Paris discuss the problems facing them. They kidnap and attempt to re-educate a touring singer from their fatherland.
