Documentary that reconstructs the professional life of the dancer through the thread of his own voice. A work that travels to the fundamental landscapes of the personal history of Gades with unpublished documents and the testimony of those who shared with him many pages of the book of his life and the history of Spanish dance in recent decades.

Film homage to the great Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, in which they dramatize fragments of his poems and the play "La casa de Bernarda Alba". From his texts, the voice of the poet himself weaves the plot. His characters come to life: El Amargo, which runs from a poem taken from "El Cante Jond" to the "Romancero Gitano". This tragic drama is based on the ballet by famed composer Manuel De Falla. A young woman is caught between the violent struggle of two rival suitors who love her passionately. Candelas (La Polaca) is pursued by kind-hearted Antonio (Antonio Gades) and the evil diablo Diego (Rafael Cordova). Lucia (Morucha) is the cryptic gypsy fortune teller, with Fernando Sanchez Polack as Candela's beloved father.
