Palermo gained celebrity when she sued socialiterank.com for releasing a letter that was proved to be false. It made a news story on New York Magazine on May 4, 2007. Palermo was born in New York City and grew up on the Upper East Side and in Greenwich, Connecticut. Her father is a real estate developer and her mother is an interior designer.
