The Right is a fictional story shaped by historical memory. A 73-year-old security guard at Dresden’s Old Masters Picture Gallery writes to the director of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, asking to volunteer there as an attendant. Beyond her own history as a Polish-German refugee in the 1940s, her wish is drawn by the museum’s avant-garde collection. From the Caravaggisti room in Dresden, she imagines another future for herself.

After a few years working like intern, Till, eventually becomes head of his own company, job counseling for young trainees. In turn, comes Sydelia, left-wing activist, idealist and combative. Their paths will soon cross youth. She is determined to start it the capitalist world in which we now live in a revolutionary way. But really, two people so different can be attracted?

This monastery functioned as a concentration camp during the Nazi era, a reformatory for girls in the 1970s, and later a psychiatric clinic.

The Berlin teacher Anna Wiegand takes over the management of the elementary school of a contemplative Black Forest village.
