Frane 'Ježek' Milčinski

A music documentary based on the work of Slovenian multihyphenate artist Frane Milčinski Ježek. His satyrical poems and songs from the 1950s and 60s today sound more urgent and topical than ever, and are covered by musicians ranging from Finnish avant-garde accordion player Kimmo Pohjonen, to legendary Croatian songstress Josipa Lisac, to the former Bad Seed Hugo Race. The music is produced by indie rock icon Cris Eckman (The Walkabouts), and expertly mixed with archive footage of Jezek's own performances and skits, creating a touching and thought-provoking narrative.

In an alpine valley lies an idyllic village. High up in the mountains, facing each others across live two men: a "good grandpa" and an "evil man".

A young girl, Vesna, goes on a skiing vacation to Slovenian Alps, where she is being looked after by her aunt. Her family gets worried when they meet Vesna's boyfriend, and try to marry the couple, thinking that she may be pregnant with him.

In a Nazi concentration camp, Karl, a German political prisoner, and David, a Jewish watchmaker, are confined in a small enclosure from which only one of them will be able to go out alive.

Samo, Sandi, and Krištof are preparing for their final exams. They come up with a plan to get hold of the math exam questions with the help of the professor's daughter, nicknamed Hyperbola. Since they don't know her real name, they call her Vesna (Spring). Unexpectedly, the professor's real daughter, the attractive Janja, shows up on a date. Samo and Vesna fall in love and the story begins to unfold rapidly. Samo invites Vesna (Janja) for a ride in a glider. They have to make an emergency landing. Sandi, happy that they finally got their assignments, fights with Samo over them. Samo gets injured and can't go on a date with Vesna. Sandi goes on the date instead, trying to win Vesna over. She scolds him and he reveals the truth that they drew lots for Vesna. Because of this, Vesna wants to kill herself. She jumps with a parachute, hoping it won't open. Everything turns out fine, and the parachute opens.

Composer and pianist Blaz Gaber lives only for his music and does not want to know anything about the outside world, where the war is raging. Upon his arrival from his poorly attended concert, he finds himself in prison for having stars drawn in his notebook by a little boy. A young illegal activist seeks refugee in the school, where the pupils hide his pistol inside the Gaber's piano. A German officer comes with his soldiers to find the hidden illegal, orders the school to be evacuated and takes the piano together with him on a train.

Rosalie is young and pretty maid on the farm of the winemaker Jacob. She becomes pregnant with the servant Marko, who disappears with a gypsy singer, leaving Rosalie alone in her awkward situation.

A post-WW2 story about the village largely involved in wine-making business. The peasants who claimed possessions of lands, woods, and churches after communist party seized the power hold a party where a member of so-called reactionary forces (kulaks, clergy and Axis collaborators) tries to break in and stop it.

A children’s classic story wrote by post-war authors, who, inspired by the real life of young people in that period of time, addressed their topical issues through depicting their unusual adventures. Thus many generations used to grow up along with the very popular Society of Pingoclavulus.

Twinkle Sleepyhead is the youngest star in the sky. Because she constantly comes late to her work, the Moon sends her to Earth to punish her. She may return to the sky when she proves that she has learnt her lesson. Among the people she meets on Earth there is also a bandit Ceferin, who wants to steal her golden hair. Due to the Twinkle Sleepyhead's innocent goodness his heart starts to beat instead of the stone he had before. Twinkle Sleepyhead returns to the sky.
