One snowy day, a strange woman passes out at Duk-dol's doorsteps. Duk-dol takes care of her and lives with her like a family. It turns out that she hid her husband at the mill and has been bringing him food every night. Her husband is Gwak Pa-ram, the daegeum(flute) master. Duk-dol comes to love the woman but she goes off to her husband.

Yeong-su and Jeong-ah experience many problems as their budding romance defies the strict rules of the co-ed highschool they attend. After graduation when it looks like they can be free to live their own lives, Yeong-su joins the military and their relationship will never be the same.

Hyeon-shik discovers that his live-in girlfriend, Eun-suk, has two other passionate suitors; The artist, Jin-woo and In-tae, a taxi driver.

Do-hee, moved by Seon-a’s spirit, joins a university mountaineering club and climbs Seorak Mountain, praying for her recovery. Seon-a’s parents care deeply, but her condition continues to worsen.
