In a forest in eastern Poland, an archaeologist digs to bring to light the traces of the Sobibor extermination center. Thousands of objects that belonged to the victims are emerging from the ground as fragile witnesses. This research must be completed, because the construction of a new museum-memorial is beginning. How can the Shoah be commemorated on its own site, today and tomorrow, when an era without witnesses is emerging? How does the Shoah continue to work on the history and memory of Poland, of its citizens, within Europe, in a conflicting political context? The film looks at these questions by showing and hearing the voices of archaeologists, historians, architects, journalists, curators, and visitors linked to Sobibor.

A seven-year-old boy goes hunting with his father. After a tracking in the forest, a wild boar is shot down. Back home, the child goes back to his Sunday afternoon homework and games. The loss of his father’s dog, the time passing by, a lonely evening, a walk during the night, make him think about himself.

In a universe that looks like nothingness, two beings seem to exist only to come into contact.

On June 4 th , 2018, the last machines of Fumel’s factory in Lot-et-Garonne, stopped for good. This huge industrial site, after having been a must of French steel production, will disappear. It cannot resist to his debts, property taxes, polluted ground … The last witnesses who made this place are mourning. But as it’s hard to close the chapter, they want to tell their story with this factory. Facing them, elected officials, associations, architects and artists seek to imagine a new future for the site. In this moment, how they will all perceive their memory, to imagine a new common history, rethinking the future of this post-industrial territory?

The marriage of Figaro, Mozart’s opera, has been adapted for the Opera of Bordeaux by Laurent Laffargue, a theatre director from Bordeaux. How do his artistic intuitions, and sometimes his certainties converge with the skill and talent of his numerous colleagues, scenographers, costume designers, singers, technicians, to make out of this creation a unique moment of the story of this play?
