The film uses drawings and diaries of Nikolai Miklouho-Maclay, whom the Papuans called the "Man from the Moon" and revered as a deity.

A man from the city arrives at the village to the house his grandmother Nyura. He didn't like his grandmother's inheritance, so Nyura's friend decides to teach her grandson a lesson and invites the house spirits Akulka and Dunyka. At night, they sing and dance, turning the house upside down, so that the heir remembers his childhood and comes to his senses.

The plot is based on an old Russian legend about the Queen of Rain. The village boy learned a good lesson for his irresponsible act.
