In 1983, Black journalist Carter arrives in Khartoum on a mission to revive a struggling newspaper. There, he reunites with Nouri, an old friend he hasn’t seen in 10 years, now an idealistic doctor who serves as an ideological counterpoint to the jaded reporter. Things grow complicated when Carter falls for Fatin, his newly hired translator, unaware that she is Nouri’s ex-wife. The fragile romance collides with the sudden weight of politics when Sharia law is imposed across Sudan, and Nouri finds himself facing the death sentence when he refuses a court order to amputate a thief’s hand.

This short film focuses on a conversation between a security officer during the 2019 Sudanese revolution and a prisoner who has a hood on his head. Inside the prison cell, the security officer is openly arguing and expressing himself to the prisoner, who is most likely a detained protester. As the protestor is handcuffed and beaten, the officer defends himself against all arguments that are directed towards the security apparatus. The film puts forth an argument that looks at the human side of the perpetrator, who acknowledges that he might be wrong but at the same time continues to do his job. The officer is seen taking off the scarf that he often wears when he participates in dispersing demonstrations and assaulting protesters, which was commonly worn by officers during the Sudanese revolution to topple Islamist President Om ar Al-Bashir
