This short movie takes us through beautiful landscapes and oppressive spaces. A dream sequence that leads to liberation, on the border between imagination and reality. We travel with a boy who matures. He dreams, he dances, he is the conductor. The only.

The life of the Schouten family revolves around tulips and top sport. Together they run a large international tulip company and children Irene and Simon skate at world top level. When mother Jolanda unexpectedly needs a lot of care and attention due to a brain haemorrhage, everything changes. How does the family relate to each other, skating and the company in this new situation?

Bote de Boer, a farmer in Tjerkwerd in Southwest Friesland, is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the black-tailed godwit. This meadow bird is a rare sight in Friesland, yet it keeps returning to his farm, in large numbers at that. The farm is not doing well: the cow shed and tractor need replacing. They need cash, but the bank is not impressed by the godwits: they want to see healthy annual figures. “Everyone loves the birds on our land,” Astrid, Bote’s wife, says. “But nobody wants to pay for them.” While the farming family tries to survive, the same goes for the godwits.
