In the near future, May returns to a remote Scottish island for one last conversation with her lost partner, in a world drifting between memory and simulation, laying bare both grief and the limits of technology.

Jay Parini finds himself stuck in a Morris Minor, chauffeuring the brilliant, blind Jorge Luis Borges through Scotland. Quiet and conservative, 23-year-old student Parini dreams of becoming a writer but is at a loss to make sense of the wild, irrepressible 70-year-old Borges. As the journey takes a surreal turn, their differences magnify until, in the tradition of a classic road trip, the two ultimately find common ground.

Pip is just your average wee guy – happy with his lot and not much of a complainer (though you really wouldn’t blame him if he was!). Regularly tortured and terrified, in what is, it must be said, a truly hard life, he still finds time to laugh, smile and dream of a brighter future, even though no-one expects anything of him. Or so he thinks…
