'The Ruling' is a short 25 minutes film touching the themes of perception and age. Three stories are told: It follows an aging judge, Galindez, throughout a court hearing that turns very personal; the story of the incident behind the hearing and its accused, and the remembrance of the long lost days, when Galindez was still a young aspiring law student.

Anna is a woman who sells flowers at the local market and whose only hope and joy in her life is her only son Amaurys. Raul, Amaurys' best friend, involves him in a drug deal which results in his death.

Juan is a urban music dancer from the slums. Due to his extraordinary talent, he is allowed to study in the most prestiogious dance studio in the city of Santo Domingo, but to become a star he'll have to go through many obstacles.
