Nripendra Krishna Chattopadhyay

A naive Sanskrit poet, shunned for falling in love with a low-caste Indian woman, faces challenges after entering into a competition with a princess.

The gloomy life of a young boy gets filled with joy when a new family moves into his neighbourhood. As the young boy sees the new girl, who becomes his new neighbour, he immediately falls in love. But things do not go easy for him as she lives with her uncle who has a very suspicious wife.

Nilachaley Mahaprabhu was a 1957 Indian Bengali biographical film directed by Kartik Chattopadhyay, based on the life of 15th-century mystic Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who started his spiritual journey and Hindu reform movement, part of the Bhakti movement during his years at Nilachal, the shrine of Jagannath at Puri. It stars Asim Kumar in the titular role with Dipti Roy, Sumitra Devi, Ahindra Choudhury, Bhanu Bandyopadhyay, Nripati Chattopadhyay and Chhabi Biswas in supporting roles.

Niren Lahiri directs this social-minded melodrama about the complicated relationship between a traditional Hindu family headed by Madhab Thakur (Choudhury) and their progressive next-door neighbor Mukherjee (Chhabi Biswas). Thakur's daughter, Malati (Sheila Haldar), and Mukherjee's son, Robi (Robin Majumdar), run a school teaching traditional Hindu values which they hope will become a countrywide franchise. Their planned nuptials are impeded when Malati's older sister is forced to marry a Brahmin against her will, resulting in a full-scale revolt in both households. Eventually, the rift is settled, the hero and heroine marry, and a sort of Hindu-laden modernity reigns in the two families.

Shreemonto, who raises his son Jayanta alone, finds solace in his friend Anuradha, but she soon leaves him. Years later, Jayanta falls in love with Anuradha's daughter.

The film is a romantic story about a wealthy Brahmo woman and a poor but intelligent Hindu man. It explores their growing love despite societal obstacles. Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, combines humor with serious themes and social commentary, creating a timeless story that respects women.

Suren, the son of a zamindar of Bangladesh, lives his life in his own way. He takes up the private tutor job for a girl whose elder sister is Madhabi, an ill-fated widow. An amnesiac man escapes the hospital he has been admitted to and is aided by doctor Roma Banerjee, who takes him to her father's country house. While treating him she falls for him and he for her. They marry, but an accident makes him remember his life as a rich man in Calcutta and completely forget the time spent with Roma. Roma follows him to Calcutta.

Sashibhushan who is the orthodox patriarch, has a tough time dealing with the youngsters who want to live life on their own.
