A small peaceful town in Norway. But forces other than peace and tolerance are brewing beneath the surface. It all begins with Martin, a teacher, accused of being gay. The rumor spreads and also hits his friends Kjærsti and Sara, who live together. The three are deviants in people's eyes, and threaten the image of reality. In the municipal administration, two corrupt officials use the rumor to hide their own dishonesty.

The late 19th century Christiania (Oslo) could offer a rich variety of entertainment. There were several variety theatres and brothels, and poor women could earn money based on their looks. The beautiful variety actress Lucie has met a lawyer by the name Gerner, a refined gentleman. Flowers and encounters outside the theatre develops into an erotic relationship. Lucie knows how to play on Gerner's jealousy and masculine pride, and finally she reaches her goal: becoming Mrs Gerner. For Lucie this means climbing the social ladder, but she'll soon notice the problems. Living in the upperclass society keeps reminding her of her poor background and her lack of etiquette. All this affects Gerner in a negative way, who is plagued by jealousy regarding people from Lucie's past. The relationship between the married couple keeps getting worse.

A TV-theater-like film experiment. As the title suggests, the film is fragmentary so that you never quite know what, who or why.

Drama by Henrik Ibsen (1882). Edited and instructed by Per Bronken. The action is set in a coastal town in southern Norway which is known for its healthy bathing establishment.

For many, the happy twenties were not very happy, with high unemployment, poverty and a bitter disillusioned youth. But at the same time there was prohibition in Norway, with large-scale smuggling and easy-earned money. Ernst, an unemployed architect, stumbles onto the smuggler path, and replaces a gray, boring life with a lush, rowdy and colorful world. Klara, the girl he loves, walks away from him, and Jenny becomes his new girlfriend. Together with Hugo and Elsa, these four make a number of smuggling trips by car - with big profits - but it's not enough. So Ernst invests in boats, and that's when the really messy smuggling starts. He operates in the entire Oslo Fjord, all the way down to Rotterdam, pursued by police and customs, with his infamous torpedo boats. We follow Ernst all the way to the so-called Bygdøyslaget, where smugglers and police brutaly clash together.

The Market of the Unknowns is a burlesque and socially critical tale of a flea market in Oslo, which is organized for the benefit of slum dwellers in Lima. Based a on novel by Åge Rønning.
