February 1939. Overwhelmed by the flood of Republicans fleeing Franco's dictatorship, the French government's solution consists in confining the Spanish refugees in concentration camps where they have no other choice than to build their own shelters, feed off the horses which have carried them out of their country, and die by the hundred for lack of hygiene and water... In one of these camps, two men, separated by barbwire, will become friends. One is a guard the other is Josep Bartoli (Barcelona 1910 - New York 1995), a cartoonist who fights against the Franco regime.

All over the world, women are shorter than men on average. Even among Northern Europeans, currently the tallest people in the world, men are around 15 centimetres taller than women. However, there are animal species in which the females are taller than the males. Sexual dimorphism - the scientific term - also has some surprises in store: For example, female blue whales are larger than their male counterparts. As blue whales are the largest mammals in the world, this means that the largest animal in the world is female. So why are its human relatives so small? Scientists from France, Great Britain, Italy, Germany and the USA have investigated this highly interesting question. They tell a fascinating evolutionary story in which biology, medicine, paleoanthropology, nutritional science, sociology, obstetrics and gynecology interact and in which the female comes out on top.

The medium that gives voice to those who have no voice is radio. In northern Iraq, seven young journalists, Muslims, Christians and Yezidis, are giving their microphones to those who want peace. They work for Radio Al-Salam, a station free from political and religious influences. In total freedom, voices are raised on the airwaves and bring back the link within a nation.
