A film about the uncertainties faced by a man in post-Communist Slovakia, his relationship with a teenage son and English teacher girlfriend who's soon to return home to England.

Young Dasha lives in a small town. Her father is a prominent man, the owner of a restaurant. However, when her father's connections are not enough to get Dasha accepted to college, she has to spend the summer working part-time in her father's business. Love, friends, even running away from home, all belong to this period of Dasha's life. The failed wedding arranged by her parents, the patronizing imposition of university studies at a price that the girl fears - all this brings on the one hand a deep disappointment in her own parents, but over time also the recognition of her own mistakes.

The fates of famous slovak individuals in history bring strong dramatic stories and a witness to the age in which they lived. Tragic and complicated life of the physician Albert Škarvan, who was a friend and admirer of the great russian writer Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy, is also a noteworthy confrontation of worldview of two individuals in times, whe pacifist ideas sharply colided with the reality

A psychological story of a young woman who, after two failed marriages, finds the strength to fight for her independence and lost self-confidence. After Ondrej's death and the disappointment of her second relationship, she returns to Ondrej's parents with her son to start working and living again.

A marriage marked by the woman's mental illness, which not only determines the marital relations, but also makes the common life for both partners somehow emotionally deeper and stronger, although it eventually comes to an unexpected conclusion.
