Beginning with his unilateral decision to emigrate to Israel, the gifted musician micro-manages nearly every aspect of their lives, both on stage and off. From every meal made in his kitchen to what instrument each member will play, the patriarch accepts nothing less than total commitment and obedience. Every child and grandchild lives in their single-family house in Tel Aviv. All but one, that is. His only daughter, Ada, chose her own way in life, a sin her father will not forgive. As generations clash over new musical directions, competing personal interests and Papa's advancing age, the family show must go on—but who will lead the band? Set to a blazing tribal soundtrack, drama and drumbeats sing out from every entertaining exchange in this grand family affair.

The wild rock band Giraffes is fulfilling an old dream and going on a magical musical journey in India that crosses the subcontinent and the planned culmination is a performance in Goa in front of the thousands of Israeli travelers there. However, a series of murderous terrorist attacks in the city of Mumbai destroy the cards and send the band on a journey in search of its audience - the Israelis who fled Goa in fear of another attack. A musical, personal and inspiring portrait of the Giraffe band and the charismatic lead singer Gilad Kahana - a rock star, a gifted poet, a drinker, a hypochondriac and a compulsive workaholic - who leads the band in an attempt to change the fate of the journey. Or as a barefoot and dusty Indian asked them at the beginning of the journey: "What is karma?"

When Israel is hijacked from within by extremist political forces, a group of citizens transform overnight into protest leaders. They embark on an epic struggle for their democracy - one that pushes the nation to the brink of civil war. Then war does break out, and the stakes rise even higher.
