A beautiful, strong-willed young royal refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed and is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father’s castle. 8 minutes and 19 seconds – that’s all the time we have until the news about the death of the sun reaches us. That's what it takes for the light to travel from there to here. And then the darkness comes… But the theme of this Apocalypse is not necessarily going to be expressed through a global cataclysm, horsemen of the apocalypse, angels of death, fire and destruction. It will rather be shown as something very personal, intimate and almost silent.

We follow the life of a man at eight, eighteen and eighty-two years old: in his village, outside the village, in the heat of the sun and the icy snow. The course of his monotonous life seems to be written in advance and meaningless. And yet an invisible force exists in him and in a mysterious way pushes him forward, towards death.

Yonko is a young man from a provincial town. For the fifth time, he is not accepted into the art academy. His father comes to help. But this can happen at the expense of humiliation. There is a gap between father and son. What kind of artist would Yonko become if he didn't have dignity?

The film follows the exciting life of legendary Father Georgi from Zheglartsi (1923–2015) with powerful shots from the last year of his life, and his inspired preaching on his very deathbed. With no pride-modesty the starets recounts the epic of his life in Christ during communism. He was not scared nor silenced, he did not budge nor flee, he did not yield to temptation, to revenge, or to hatred. A genuine hard-working proletarian, with muscles and character of iron, he rose up to his full stature against the System and defeated it in single combat. In the hard years of atheistic persecution, when many priests renounced their faith and abandoned their ministry, the uneducated labourer from the obscure village decided to fill the void, and to become a priest.
