Inspired by true events, "While We Live" follows four people in Northern Denmark and how their fates intertwine in a tragic accident.

Masturbating in a bed filled with dolls and teddy bears, teenage girl Agnes is tired of hearing about how accepting God at her confirmation will serve as a rite of passage to adulthood. She seeks out to find her own path to adulthood - and she enlists her older brother's friend to help her.

Kimmi, Sally and Nancy, best friends forever, are spending the night hiding out and drinking at their high school. Kimmi is a vampire and in love with Nancy, but what is 'real sex' and what are the boundaries of desire? Snow starts falling in the gym hall, blood flows freely on the thighs of teenage girls, and it's going to be one hell of a neon colored night, but hey: You Only Live Once. YOLO!

Corrupt police officer Henrik is hopelessly in love with teenage girl Stine and has invited her on a drive in his unmarked car.

When Laura and Christine meet Maria, their friendship takes an intense turn to vulnerability, love and sex.

Realizing that her unknown biological father is probably alive, Sofia leaves behind a degrading and humiliating life and embarks on a journey with her naive half-sister Olivia, both girls hoping to find the caring father figure they so desperately need.

In the wake of a series of seemingly insignificant events, an ordinary school day for Sara, Mikkel, Louise and Hassan develops into a tragic turning point that changes everything forever.
