Melodifestivalen (direct translation: The Melody Festival) is an annual music competition organised by Swedish public broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). The competition is a six part tour (5 heats + the final) with stops in cities across Sweden to determine the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. Melodifestivalen is also known informally as "Mello", or internationally as "Melfest".

Children aged ten to twelve are divided into two teams and compete in action-packed and knowledge-based challenges while living together in the wilderness. Each episode features a prize challenge and a challenge where the winning team earns a new teammate, strengthening their group ahead of the final competition. Alongside the contests, the series follows their everyday life at camp, from building shelters and cooking over an open fire to dealing with homesickness and sharing their thoughts in the evenings.
