The daughter of a lawyer is abducted. He becomes a hunted man himself.

On the morning of his hundredth birthday, Fanny finds her grandfather dead in his bed. As she and her family are forced to deal with the death, a bitter dispute over the inheritance erupts, in which old power relations are reversed.

There are two inns in the village of Hundsling, one too many. When Magdalena arrives for her mother's funeral, she sees how overwhelmed her father Xaver is with the family business, the “Rosi” inn.
