1868, Thessaly. Thanasis Vardas stalked by a Turkish-Albanian gang and forced to leave the 5 year old son Giorgis in a monastery in Meteora. Fifteen years later, when Thessaly was liberated and incorporated into the Greek state, Giorgis, big anymore, leaving the monastery. One day, Takis steals a large sum of money from his father's office and suspicion falls on Lakis. Benos confiscates all his money and fires him. Alone and desolate, since Marina has left Athens, he sells the suitcase containing all his belongings and begins to wander here and there.
