Workplaces of desk jockeys, hunters, surveillance officers. A labyrinth of human alienation.

Children from socially disadvantaged families, either placed in care or admitted voluntarily, tell their stories and share their hopes. After reunification, they are released into the harsh reality of East Germany.

Some only in half because their father left for the West. Depending on their family background, they want or should help build the new, better Germany.
