The elite of political and business life of the country town gather to celebrate the namesday of Haudek László in the luxury villa. Everything begins just as usual, but now an incident disturbs the stag party.

1985. Hungary has elections for the first time since long where more than one candidate is allowed to run. The engineer Bodnár is the most popular man in the rural town, who has defended the microclimate of the neighbourhood against a harmful project. Before the elections he is also put on the list. Local power launches a fight against him,

Kohán Imre, an adolescent kid under state care, is taken to the school resort house in the Bükk mountains with tuberculosis. He falls in love with Nurse Katica, not much older than him, and she makes friends with this open and sincere boy. Imre also finds friends among his class-mates and gains recognition for his brave behaviour.

Gruber is a normal 16-year-old growing up in Budapest in 1962, but he has a problem -- how does he get to know the opposite sex? At the Sunday afternoon dance classes the young "ladies and gentlemen" hold each other while dancing, and that makes the lessons worth something. Otherwise, the pianist's attention wanders and the orchestra does not exactly play with a single-minded dedication. In fact, everybody seems to have other things on their minds, except for the enthusiastic dance instructor and his ever-smiling assistant.

A man who leads a lonely existence with his young daughter accidentally gets involved with a robbery before a manhunt ensues.
