The Diary of a Husband serves as an illustration for the arrival of the white-collar economy, in which the extended family is replaced by the smaller nuclear family. It is a story about four pals who work at the same office, which, like other white-collar workplaces, has become the men's primary site of life, where livings are made and friendships fostered. Meanwhile, their wives have fostered something of their own—a brigade to catch cheating husbands. Much comedy is then generated by the cat-and-mouse game between the men and the women...The battle line drawn here between the sexes remains for years, to the extent that this very same story has been retold many times in Hong Kong films, including Men Suddenly in Black, the 2003 Pang Ho-cheung film with a similar Chinese title.

Bus Money dons various disguises on public buses to protect the defenceless from the bullies and receives heroic praise. All the others are moved by what Kum has suffered and they start to accept her.

In this 1960s family comedy though, marriage is attached with a string of feudal obligations. Shun (Cheung Ying-choi) and Sum (Nam Hung) are happily married with a son. Shun's childless uncle from the US proposes to take away their son as his own and, when the couple refuse, demands that Shun marry a second wife to bear him an offspring. The couple in distress team up with their naughty friends in playing a game of bluff, which sets off a series of whimsical and side-splitting sequences. Director Chor Yuen tied the knot with actress Nam Hung three years after the film's release, leading to one of the most celebrated marriages in Hong Kong cinema.

The third film of ‘The Greatest' film series plays down cultural differences for an amusing cross-dressing comedy that features another great collaboration between Leung Sing-por and Liu Enjia. This time, Leung puts on omega hair and woman's clothing, posing as a rich woman in order to help his two friends get love. Liu is equally amusing, sharing the dance floor with Leung in a hilarious dance scene. Loosely based on the British play Charley's Aunt, the film is a delightful comedy on grassroots, offering a refreshing alternative to MP & GI's usual line of comedies.

Chi-keung and Bak Lan separated due to disputes, and Chi-keung took the younger daughter Siu-bo back to Macau while Lan brought the elder daughter Dai-bo to Hong Kong. While they both have partners, Lai-kuen and Jimmy, they still have ambivalent feelings towards each other. Siu-bo and Dai-bo bumped into each other during an occasion in Macau and decided to swap places to see their mum/dad whom they had rarely seen since birth. Fat Kau (Leung Sing-por) and his wife (Ma Siu-ying) are not on the best terms with their fierce daughter-in-law Tang (Tam Lan-hing). It is their secret wish that their grandson Kim-kwong (Yam Kim-fai) would marry an ill-tempered woman—it would be, Kau and Lee think, poetic justice for Tang to have a taste of her own medicine. Yu Sung Chi was separated from his wife and young daughter during the war. When he fled with his eldest daughter Yu pak Mei, he adopted the orphan Ho Chi Kwong. To commemorate the seventh anniversary of the Union Film Enterprise known for producing quality films and co-founded by Lee, Human Relationships is adapted from writer Ba Jin's novel into film. The Yiu family moves into a manor. Mrs Yiu, while frustrated by the way her step-son is spoiled by her husband and mother-in-law, develops a friendship with a kid (Michael Lai) who steals flowers from the mansion's garden. She later learns that he is the son of the place's former owner whose downfall at middle age is the result of being spoiled when young. Lai was only a child but gained a foothold among seasoned veterans like Cheung Wood-yau, Ng Cho-fan and Pak Yin.

Pak coek gung's family rents the third floor of a tenement building. Due to the water shortage, Pak's porridge stall is difficult to operate. At that time, Ah Seng, the son of Pak, owed money to Cheung, the fat man downstairs. Cheung saw that the porridge stall could not operate, so he took away the license of the porridge stall. In order to get the license back, Pak's daughter Miuying had to work as a dancer to pay off the debt. Chor Yuen started his directorial career with a bang. From its very first image, The Natural Son establishes Chor as a filmmaker of stylistic flourish, which would be sustained in various forms throughout his long tenure. Adapted from '30 cents' pulp fiction, it is a Kong Ngee melodrama made in the studio's mould, with Westernised characters and trendy middle-class lifestyles. Yet, Chor's first film is not exempt from the social urgency that characterises the Cantonese cinema of his father, Cheung Wood-yau. The film cloaks its entertainment in a moral deliberation on blood ties, its story about the raising of a bastard child a head-on challenge of archaic family values.
