Waiting for his big dream (a film role) to come true, Pablo works as a training actor in a patient-care programme at a medical faculty and a paid participant in group therapy sessions. To make ends meet, he sublets a room in his apartment in a suburb of Santiago de Chile. However, he seems to have lost control when his housemate departs, leaving him with rent arrears, a collection of plants, a dog, a woolly jumper, and... a house ghost. Pablo is 30, and when it comes to romance he is also chasing apparitions. He is secretly still in love with his ex-boyfriend, a popular YouTuber.

For a whole summer, 17-year-old Florencia has to look after her brother, who is trapped in a persistent vegetative state. From time to time she reads to him from a comic about plant souls that take control of human bodies at full moon.

Although they barely know each other, they exchange their life stories to embody each other's youth. The premise of this exercise in empathy was "if I don't dare to say it, let someone else say it for me".

In a city battered by capitalism, overwork, and loneliness, a group of Caribbean women recently arrived in Chile survive working at the popular “cafés con piernas” –literally “coffee with legs”–

A doctor and expert in ethics, Sergio Graf has to fight the Chilean health system as a patient when he gets Guillain-Barré syndrome. It is a journey toward physical deterioration, a loss of safety, and returning to something that he has until now taken for granted: his family.

Free-spirited university student Rafaela’s carefree life is shaken when she falls pregnant. Desperate to get an abortion in a country where doing so could land her in jail and unable to fund one illegally, her situation shakes her world. But thankfully, she doesn’t face it alone by virtue of her best friend and sidekick, Gabriela. In her directorial debut, Hyland skilfully captures the incongruity of the inseparable duo’s lives as they move between their fuzzy pink apartment and the rough and raw backstreets of Santiago.
