On March 1, 1982, the city of Niterói enters history and hosts one of the most important cultural movements: a so-called Rock 80 Generation. Radio Fluminense FM, known as “A Maldita”, goes on the air, mixing irreverence, daring and creativity with its programming aimed at music that lacks commercial space. The boldness of believing in the new made “Maldita” become one of the main alternative communication vehicles, launching Brazilian rock groups and independent music and creating a legion of fans.

The story of the young people from Brasília that, led by Renato Russo, after a long journey and many obstacles, sees their dream come true, with the success of their bands.

Mixing archival footage and interviews with the band and its crew, this film celebrates the 40-year history of legendary rockers Paralamas do Sucesso.

Acústico MTV spans Gal Costa's career very thoroughly. What is very different here is the presentation of the material. Backed up by a lush orchestra (the Petrobrás Pró Música Orchestra), some of Gal's old hits have a beautiful new sound. Even some of her early songs, such as "Baby" and "Não Identificado," are more subdued. As a whole, the CD does show a more mature and secure performer. As added bonuses, Gal invites a few guests to sing with her. Having introduced Luiz Melodia to Brazil, Gal brings him back in "Pérola Negra," one great moment in the CD. Continuing the list of guests, Gal then introduces a new name in 1997: Zeca Baleiro. Their duet in "A Flor da Pele" is hauntingly beautiful and the most beautiful track in Acústico MTV. Targeting the younger MTV crowd, two names from Brazilian rock lend their voices in two additional duets.

Herbert Up Close is the life and music of Herbert Vianna, front man of the Paralamas do Sucesso, "the most successful band in Brazillian rock", according to the Billboard magazine. In 2001, Herbert had his career interrupted by an airplane accident that killed his wife and left him disabled. Sitting on a wheelchair, Herbert watches his past on a television, a life of fighting, persistence and achievements shown by close and caring vision from directors Roberto Berliner and Pedro Bronz. The film tells the inside story of one of the most talented musicians in Latin American pop music.

Os Paralamas do Sucesso embark on a journey to the parts of Rio de Janeiro that were the most significant in their history. It was in this city that the band's career began. The artists recall the songs and sounds that they used to draw inspiration from, and the new rhythms that were changing the history of music. From Vovó Ondina's house to Circo Voador, Herbert, Bi, and João recall stories, relationships, and feelings in different parts of Rio, taking us on an exciting journey. We will get to know about their first steps in music, when all they had was their dreams and they still couldn't imagine that their efforts to make music would turn them into one of the most important bands in the history of Latin music.
