Varun, the younger brother of a police officer, arrives in Kuala Lumpur to begin his tertiary studies. But books and grades threaten to go out the window when he finds himself captivated by a fellow student, Nivetha. Unfortunately, college senior and big bully, Prem is also in pursuit of her. Naturally, the lads clash, leading to Varun becoming involved in many shenanigans, including provoking the local mob boss.

Karthi, a disgruntled assistant on commercial productions, is working on an honest, personal film script, but his project is without industry backers. In the dispiriting pursuit of his dream, he loses his love and sinks into alcoholism, until he meets a kindred spirit adrift in the world.

Set in the early 1990’s, a critical period in Malaysian Indian history, the story subtly underlines the plight of the Indian Malaysians. Forsaken by the estate owners who had employed them for generations and systematically marginalized, they are forced to move to the cities and survive under harsh circumstances. Left out of the nation’s urbanization and development plans, many live in squatters and work at minimum wage jobs…

Thrill-seeking journalist Murugan heads to Malaysia to look for ordinary folks with odd stories, to be used as part of the true paranormal story collection he writes for a magazine. Everything goes well at first for him upon his arrival in Malaysia, that is until he encounters a supernatural experience that changes his life.
