Willy Walden

Highlights from the "Snip & Snap" revues by René Sleeswijk, with the comedy duo Willy Walden and Piet Muyselaar. Featuring show ballet The Carden Singers & Dancers.

Worried about the ‘declining morals’ of 1950s Amsterdam, taxi driver Piet Amstel decides to emigrate to Australia. The government drive to build atomic shelters and the incessant Dutch rain only strengthen his purpose, as Amstel figures sunny Australia would make a positive change for his family. But first he needs to bring his daughter and her criminal boyfriend back on the right path.

Polygoon film from the late 1940s, with an impression of the activities in and around the AVRO radio studios in Hilversum. Beautiful footage of the technician giving a signal to the newsreader so he can read the news. Or relaying the correct time. Important for people who have to go to work or school.

Series of six programs in which Willy Walden reminisces about his career on stage and about his colleagues from the productions of Rene Sleeswijk Sr, with a collage of show, sketches, songs, and anecdotes.
