The struggle to succeed and a love story of some Argentines who live in the Montparnasse neighborhood in Paris.

King Pausole is known for his relaxed rule and having a different wife for every day of the year. Princess Aline, the king's favorite, leaves the kingdom with Giglio, a modern, adventurous pilot, disrupting the kingdom's orderly hedonism. The king abandons his daily duties to hunt for his daughter, bringing him into contact with a world outside his own pampered experience.

Two friends, Tim and Pinkie, are divers. A woman comes to separate them: she gets married secretly by Pinkie and during her absence, accepts Tim's advances. Pinkie doubts his friend Tim, but a shipwreck reconciles them while the culprit loses her life.

Good King Pausole selects a wife for every day in the year, but one protests when he spends her day searching for young Princess Aline who has eloped with Giglio, a visiting airman stranded in the kingdom. Giglio comes from a modern and different world and this gives Queen for a Day some ideas about how to make her title a lasting one.
