Jean-Luc Tardieu

Jean‑Luc Tardieu is a French actor and stage director active from the 1970s onward. He appeared in several television productions, including Schulmeister, espion de l’empereur, in which he played the character Beaujardin. His screen work also includes roles in Martine Verdier, Le Vol d’Icare, and multiple Au théâtre ce soir recordings. Alongside his acting career, he directed and staged several television projects from the 1980s to the 2000s.

A blue cat named Buxton is found in the Magic Garden. With help from the Blue voice (played by Fenella Fielding), Buxton enters the ruins of the old treacle factory where he is crowned king after correctly identifying the colours of seven doors (coloured different shades of blue). Buxton throws all the characters of The Magic Roundabout except Dougal into prison and steals Zebedee's magic moustache.

He is bored with enduring the trials of his shrewish wife, so, after using actuarial tables to calculate the most common means of death, he cleverly prepares the family bathroom and brings about her demise. For a while he is content with his new freedom, but then he recognizes that a friend is in a similar situation.
