When András, Albert and Bence are on a cycling tour around Lake Balaton, their dreams come true. Sunshine, beach and pretty girls. András and his younger brother run after the same girl, Eszter. András persuade his brother not to pinch the girl. András pick her up one night and split up with her next day. Eszter follows the boy, but András sends her away...

Lint and his lover are sailing and making fun absent-mindedly at Lake Balaton when the anchor suddenly gets stuck in a bomb in the mud. Lint gets hurt while fussing about under the water. A strong storm breaks out when they reach the shore. In the local restaurant the man recalls his memories of war.

Senator Fromm summoned to court, as it became known that he was involved in the Bobbi Beykera, the Secretary of the Democratic majority in the Senate. He is accused of stealing money from the fund of the party of bribing senators, blackmail, in tax evasion and other fraud. Investigation of the case of Senator Fromm leads the FBI. Parallel to this matter do Fromm's secretary and progressive journalist, her friend. They got incriminating documents closely related to senators in politics. But FBI agents taking care of the honor of politicians, millionaires do their best to hush up the case, and removed out of the way of those who want to tell people the truth.

The story is set in the stifling atmosphere of the 1950s. The highly politicized everyday life of the period unfolds from the perspective of a young man coming from a poor peasant background who wins entry to the humanities faculty in Budapest. The film shows how politics interferes in and corrodes the private lives of people.

Marching through the snowfields of Ukraine, the Writer is already haunted by visions.
