Two young lovers, Robert, a Catholic opera singer, and Rachel, a Jewish violin virtuoso, dream of one day performing together at legendary Carnegie Hall. When they're torn apart by the German invasion of Poland, Robert vows to find Rachel, no matter what the war may bring. His search leads him on a life-threatening journey through the heart of Nazi Germany, to a reckoning that Rachel may be lost to him forever.

Teenage Millie and her Uncle John seek revenge after their family's murder. As they approach those responsible, Millie must choose whether to follow the path of vengeance, leading to a violent transition into adulthood.

The story follows five characters who have never met before, and seemingly have nothing in common. This all changes however when one day their lives become intertwined, by a simple coin that travels through the hands of each person. We see how for each character, the coin plays a crucial part in encouraging small acts of kindness. But what they don't know, is that kindness is powerful, and small selfless acts can have a huge positive impact. Although they are all suffering in some way, it only takes a single moment for everything to change.
