Carl Ludwig works at a small publishing house, a desk job that bores him to death. He constantly finds himself daydreaming about being a nude photographer or a detective.

Franz-Egon Mauser and his wife travel to Italy for their vacation. But they don't spend much time together, as each is busy cheating on the other.

Carl is captured in pornographic fantasies all day and night, trying to stay concentrated at work without luck. In part 2, his mind is drifting to more exotic places.
