The carnival of Venice, a city of water. This is a classical kind of festival, staged with extravagance. Festival-goers hide their true selves under their costumes and behind their masks. This show portrays the yearnings possessed by everyone, the excitement of the heart, and the lingering twinge of loneliness that occurs after the passage of time.

In 1959, a body of a flight attendant of an international airline is found, strangled. Detective Rokuro Fujisawa takes charge of the investigation with a young detective Ichimura and his investigations lead him to Father Tolbeck as a suspect. A member of the U.S. House of Representatives, leading a delegation of stage artists, comes to Moscow and a female russian government official welcomes his entourage. The congressman is hoping, through the results of the visit, to make a name for himself in order to move up to the Senate. Meanwhile, the female government official - whose nickname is "Iron Lady" - keeps a watchful eye on the him in suspicion of espionage. As a result, the two get along like cats and dogs.

Azusa (Anna Ishii) and Narumi (Fuka Koshiba) are 2nd grade high school students. They lack confidence and also any kind of ambitions. Hazuki (Karin Ono), Tamaki (Mika Akizuki) and Mika (Miku Uehara) are also unnoticed students at the same high school. These five girls form a dance club and begin to dance to get credits. They soon learn the joys of dancing and also learn to express themselves.

A small town in New Jersey, just after the end of World War I. During the revolutionary war, this town was headquarters for General Washington, and the prison from that time has now become a restaurant and is a famous spot for tourists. The town has many old homes and old families. To this town come three young men: Bernard Stein, Christopher Wren, and Peter Ferguson. By chance, at the same time they each meet a woman and become engaged. To celebrate the end of their bachelorhood, they arrange to take a short boat trip south. Just as the boat is leaving, they each receive a letter from the same mysterious sender.

In 20th century Paris, a farewell reception is being held after the a millionaire who had founded many enterprises. His will says that his eldest son George will succeed the count with the stipulation that he marry a woman of either blue blood or high society within half a year but Georges dreams of marrying and loving forever a woman destined to cross his path. He feels oppressed by the idea of getting married merely to fulfill his father's will. His friend tells George to go easy, advising him that marriage is one thing and love another. He then leads George to a revue theater he knows well. George, who gets drunk at the theater, remembers his father's advice in the will: Go to church when in distress. He heads for a church. However, on the way to the church, he falls down. At the moment he thinks in fading consciousness that he is freezing to death, he sees an angel.

Five outstanding researchers from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s crime lab are gathered and given powers for special investigations in response to diversified modern crimes. They are called the Scientific Task Force or ST for short. The new, elite Inspector Yurine Tomohisa becomes the ST’s commanding officer. Meanwhile, a shooting rampage breaks out. Five people are shot and one of them, a female company employee, dies. The media reports this as Japan’s first case of indiscriminate shooting. When Miyuki unexpectedly comes across a dying puppy, she trusts the words her grandmother taught her, "When you make a wish upon the wasureyuki (the last snow of spring), it will definitely come true" and she prays for the puppy's recovery. Sakuragi, who is studying to be a veterinarian, passes by and heals it. These two who were drawn together by a mysterious power, are immediately attracted to each other. When the time comes for them to say goodbye at Miyuki's house, they promise to meet again in seven years' time, in the same place. And the two do accomplish the reunion that they spoke of so inevitably. However, when the memories of their younger days return to the space between them, Miyuki disappears. This is a fleeting, pure love story of the two who loved each other, and yet passed by each other...

A man called Nero is sneaking political prisoners out of a small country into nearby Mexico hiding them in cargo. He outwardly runs a high-class nightclub while smuggling behind closed doors. Although Escobar, Nero's best friend, knows that President Saldivar is secretly allowing them to carry on this illegal trade, he is afraid of attracting people's attention. Nero is determined to do his best for his country that has gone through coup after coup with the result of its people growing more and more discontented.

Henri Dunant, a traveler who is on his way from Geneva, Switzerland, to Paris, happens to pass through this battlefield in Solferino. He is greatly shocked when setting his eyes on this graphic scene that tells the tragedy of war. As he stands watching dumbfounded, an injured Austrian soldier clings to his feet, begging for some water. Dunant has heard about a nearby church serving as an emergency field hospital. So he races there in a bid to save the life of the still-breathing solider.
