It tells of a girl, who, because she is poor, joins the cabaret to be able to survive and support her younger sister (Andrea Bautista, the producer’s daughter) and brother (Bong Revilla who is at present an action superstar and Philippine Senator). The hypocrisy of the country’s rural life comes to fore. A visiting singer becomes the hapless girl’s knight in shining armor.
