Susila lives in a small village with her mother and two brothers. Growing up facing the bitterest realities of life, her coming of age is delayed. But once it happens, she instantaneously attracts the attention of the young men in the village leading to conflict.

Thank You Berty (Sinhala: තෑන්ක් යු බර්ටි) is a 2010 Sinhalese language Sri Lankan action-comedy film written by Tennyson Cooray as his directorial debut and starring a number of Sri Lankan comedians, including Bandu Samarasinghe, Dilhani Ekanayake, Ananda Wickramage, Mahendra Perera, Anusha Damayanthi, Nilanthi Dias, and Cletus Mendis. The film had its world premiere August 7, 2010, in Melbourne, Australia.

Cheriyo Captain is a 1995 Sri Lankan Sinhala comedy film directed by Roy de Silva and produced by Thilak Atapattu for TK Films. It is the second film of Cheriyo film series, which is sequel to Cheriyo Doctor.

The film centers on three middle aged men staying in a hostel. At a later stage, another tenant comes to stay in the hostel, where he falls in love with the eldest daughter of the hostel owner. The entire film was based on how the old three tenants trying their best to chase the new tenant and win the heart of owner's daughter. The plot is based on the Tamil film Indru Poi Naalai Vaa.

The film deals with the inter-ethnic, communal violence between Sinhalese and Tamils. It demonstrates the ambivalence of the Sinhala socio-political establishment towards the Tamil people.
