Wimal Kumara de Costa (4 July 1948 – 20 November 2016) was a highly celebrated veteran actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theater, and television. Spanning a career of nearly five decades, he appeared in over 100 films and is widely regarded as a pioneer of the Sri Lankan mime industry. He initially gained widespread critical acclaim for his serious character roles in art films before successfully transitioning into one of the country's most popular comedy artists during the 1980s and 1990s.
