Sky Arts presents the definitive story of The Jam, one of the most successful British bands in rock history, who were at the forefront of the late 1970s punk-mod scene. Featuring exclusive interviews with Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, and richly illustrated with archive performances, this documentary, directed by Bob Smeaton, traces the band's formation and success between 1975 and 1982, and is set against the backdrop of the ever changing politics, fashion and attitudes that shaped the period of late 70s and early 80s.

2017 was the 40th Anniversary of the release of The Jam's first Polydor singles and LPs. This DVD features TV appearances and promo videos from those iconic LPs -- In The City and This is the Modern World.

"Paul Weller: Into Tomorrow" is a unique insight into the life of a music and style icon. Inspired in part by the Robert Evans film "The Kid Stays In The Picture" this 90-minute film features Paul Weller recounting his life story and contains wonderful archive footage and candid interviews with friends, family and musical associates including his parents John and Anne, Steve Brookes and Bruce Foxton of The Jam, former wife and Style Council member Dee C Lee, Steve White and Mick Talbot of The Style Council, Boy George and Noel Gallagher. Weller tracks his journey from his childhood in Woking through the purchase of his first guitar to the formation of The Jam, the Style Council and his solo years.

The Complete Jam serves up a staggering 49 performances, divided between 16 promotional videos (previously available on the |Video Snap VHS collection), a seven-song excerpt from a 1980 live show, and a staggering 26 more drawn from the best of the band's television performances, ranging from their U.K. debut on Marc Bolan's fondly remembered Marc through to their nine-song farewell performance on The Tube. A couple of entertaining interviews, a photo gallery, and a short (and, sadly, very poorly narrated) documentary on the band's history complete the portrait.

It's Sunday 21st March 1982, and at the Bingley Hall in Birmingham five cameramen and their cameras are anchored to the buildings pillars to avoid the crush of more than 5,000 fans, waiting in mounting excitment to capture the power of the Jam, live in concert.
