The film tells the story of a man trying to find his wife's killer. Returning from a business trip, Yılmaz finds his wife Gülsüm dead. The police then arrive and arrest Yılmaz. At the trial, two neighbors falsely testify against Yılmaz, accusing him of the crime. To avoid being arrested, Yılmaz pretends to be insane. This allows him to avoid going to prison. However, he is admitted to the hospital. Yılmaz will escape from the hospital and attempt to find the killer.

The film depicts the struggle for survival of a poor civil servant and his family. Mazlum is in debt to the grocer, the butcher, and his landlord. He tries to support his family on the little money he earns. The landlord evicts Mazlum and his family, using their accumulated debts as an excuse. The family, now homeless, tries to build a shanty house. The shanty house is demolished by the police. Mazlum, who has not been able to go to work for three days, is also fired from his job. One day, they settle into a mansion located in the middle of a cemetery as guards. However, strange things are happening in this mansion.

A woman who is forced to marry resists the pressure by marrying a stranger on paper, and they begin to act like a happy couple. Over time, their relationship turns into true love.

After arguing with Neset, who wants to marry Hasan Pasha's daughter, Nazan, Sevki meets Nazan, the daughter of the house. After a while, an emotional closeness develops between Nazan and Sevki.
