Four men from different parts of the globe, all hiding from their pasts in the same remote South American town, agree to risk their lives transporting several cases of dynamite (which is so old that it is dripping unstable nitroglycerin) across dangerous jungle terrain.

Two brothels in a small country town fight fiercely for the town's clientele, putting the owners of the two brothels, Salô and Maria Navalha, on a war footing. The conflict between the two establishments will bring problems for Salô's employees, who will rebel while the boss is harassed by the town's police forces because of his homosexuality.

A curious story: it rains whenever a couple of lovers meet. Against the weather forecast, it rains all over the city. And as the love grows, the stronger becomes the rain. Found by a television crew, they receive the title of "Rain Lovers", and their dates become public spectacles.

Two young men in search of adventure meet Iracema, a bride who's been left waiting at the church. They give her a ride on their jeep, until they find the most strange family: a couple with seven girls and a son. According to popular tradition, a man born after seven girls is bound to become a werewolf.

Caseli, a young writer and teacher, creates in his imagination characters who would frequent a motel, the subject of the book he is writing. He and Dilma, his student, decide to spend a night in a motel in Rio, where eight couples meet: - Fábio, visual artist and Stefânia, fashion editor of a magazine; - Ferraz, flirtatious dentist and his secretary Cleonice, shy and virgin; - Vera, wife of Ferraz and Kiko, big boy from Ipanema; - Leopoldo and his wife, an elderly couple celebrating their golden anniversary; - Detective Camilo and his assistant Dorô, who try to catch Vera in the act of adultery; - Renato, on vacation from São Paulo and Cláudia, a woman he recently met in Rio; - Gustavo and Lazinha, a couple who use extravagant artifices to achieve sexual fulfillment. In the middle of the night, the corpse of an unknown man appears, and the arrival of the police determines the most diverse outcomes for those who were looking for just one night of love.
