Jack S. Kotschack

Jack Salomon Kotschack was an entrepreneur and film producer. He acted as CMO and producer at AB Svea Film 1950-1960. Kotschack was the creator of Radio Nord. A commercial radio station broadcasting from the ship M/S Bon Jour anchored on international waters close to the Stockholm Archipelago. Radio Nord was active from March 1961 to June 1962.

It is in a battlefield in Karelia, Finland during the Continuation war (1941-1944). Intensive shooting between Finnish and Soviet troops takes place. The Soviet occupation is strong, and on the Finnish side it is ordered to withdraw. But Captain Viktor Aaltonen does not listen to the order but wants to shorten a wounded companion's suffering. Aaltonen is taken to the Soviet prison camp, Vorkuta, where he will spend a decade.

Claus, an unhappy 28 year old Norwegian insurance company employee quits his job in Oslo and heads for Sweden in order to figure out who he really is. In his travels he meets and falls in love with Liss, a liberated small town woman, but they both have trouble considering a long-term commitment which will curtail their treasured freedom. After separating, Claus heads north and joins a surveying team, where he finds himself attracted to a country girl. Will the big city boy settle down in the rugged wilds of the Northlands, or will he return to the south and negotiate a commitment to Liss.
